Dinafem Video: Original Amnesia, One Extraordinary Plant

Such an iconic variety could only yield something truly great. We had to lay it on the line, but at Dinafem we knew we could come up with something unique and genuine. So, we took the legendary Original Amnesia, introduced back in 1994 to the cannabis world by Zweip at the Dutch nutrient company Hy-Pro, in order to make an even more legendary version of his strain and create a much more productive feminized one. And so it was: the Dutch master teamed up with Dinafem to achieve the goal we had set.

The result of this alliance is the seed that we present here, much more powerful and productive than the original genetic. But the process was not easy. This strain was much more challenging and demanding than other feminized seeds in our catalogue. Growing it is no easy task. It is a plant that grows really, really fast, so it requires lots of care to ensure it gets the light and abundant nutrients it needs. 

With the necessary attention feminized Original Amnesia can grow up to 4 meters high, and to a very considerable width too, all to provide a copious production of buds, which grow all over the plant. Robust and strong, its sturdy branches are capable of supporting dense buds, as hard as rocks, covered with glistening resin. 

And what can we say about its effects? Two tokes suffice to perfectly grasp its name. Its powerful psychoactive effect will allow you to forget your everyday problems and carry you off to a new dimension. Loaded with a peculiar mix of flavours and aromas, you will feel yourself levitate on a journey that will leave you knocked out as you touch the stars in the sky. For this very reason it is not recommended for smokers starting out in the world of cannabis. We are dealing with extremely "flammable" material here.

CULTIVATION

A very demanding plant

As we learned at Dinafem when creating this genetic, Original Amnesia is not a strain that one leave to its own devices. As the most experienced cannabis that have harvested it will know, it is a strain that requires a lot of fertiliser and light to grow at the rate and reach the size it does. To fully exploit its potential and achieve incredible yields you will have to make sure it gets enough nutrition. 

Just a glance at its leaves will tell you if you are doing it right. Although predominantly Sativa varieties often have light green leaves, or at least lighter than Indicas, this is not the case with feminized Original Amnesia. Whenever nourished it properly it will produce leaves featuring dark green tones.

Suitable for both indoor and outdoor growing

Whether your garden is outdoors or indoors, you can opt for this strain. Wherever you cultivate it, what you have to remember is that for feminized Original Amnesia to exhibit its impressive results it must get plenty of light. In cases of "indoor" crops experts recommend having at least 600-watt lamps to ensure that the plant receives the light it needs to thrive.

Irrigation and fertiliser, keys

As we have already pointed out, we are dealing with a very high-maintenance plant. You will need to be careful and be sure to give it all the nutrients it requires. In addition to this factor, it is recommended that the substrate in which you grow these cannabis seeds contain high electroconductivity levels, and it is best for the concentration of fertiliser in the water to be around 2 / 2.3 siemens / centimetre. Therefore, the most advisable system to get the most out of this strain is hydroponics. In this way you will be able to do something else that will bring out the best in this plant: facilitate the absorption of micronutrients, which will really make a difference. 

Flowering and harvest

If anything has surprised those who have cultivated this strain it is the speed with which its flowers blossom. With proper care one can enjoy abundant buds, throughout the plant, in just 9 weeks, something that certainly represents an unprecedented achievement for a Haze hybrid. If you have really nailed it, in this record time you may have yields of up to 600 grams per square meter. The large, dense and hard buds that will appear all over the plant are of premium quality. And those aren't all the advantages of this strain: thanks to its high flower/leaf ratio, feminized Original Amnesia is a plant that is easy to manicure.

Aroma and flavour

In this regard the seed's Haze genetics come shining through. In addition to the classic scent of that strain, your taste buds will experience an extremely exquisite sweet and spicy blend. Not much of an effort is necessary to appreciate and enjoy the secrets of feminized Original Amnesia's flavour, with its notes of frankincense, lemon, cedar and spices. And you shouldn't be surprised if, depending on the plant, you detect a fruity touch too, perhaps banana.

A superlative effect

Last but not least, there is Original Amnesia's powerful effect. After your taste buds have savoured its aromas, its Sativa predominance will kick in, and your neurons are in for a ride. The first puffs of this variety hit the brain and make you feel light as a feather.
