In Oregon they won´t have to get out of their cars to buy cannabis

  • It aims to be of help for those who need medical cannabis, but also for those who simply want it for recreational purposes. Although there are other similar outlets, this is the first one not to require a medical permit. In the county where this business is to open, it is said that the store will be of help to the economy.

Oregon had, for some time, been the fourth state in the United States to legalise marijuana for medicinal uses, after Alaska, Colorado and Washington D.C. This region, since then, has been working hard for its citizens to obtain their favourite plant in an easy way and taking into account all conditions for securing it. Now, those who want to purchase it quickly are in luck.

Within the next few months, April is expected to see the opening of 'Green Life Oregon', the first drive-thru cannabis store in Oregon not to require a prescription. Located in Gold Beach (the county seat of Curry County), very near Curry General Hospital, it will provide the herb to those customers who drive there in their vehicles.

According to Jeremy Paulson, the manager of Green Life, the intention is "to make sure people have the opportunity for natural alternatives to pain medicine" and to provide society with a quality product. Paulson also believes that a reliable dispensary can take cannabis off the black market in the streets and thus reduce crime. In this way, those who need the herb may get it easily and with quality assurance.

This is a legal outlet whose purpose it is to go further than those existing establishments in places like Detroit, where a prescription is needed in order to obtain the product. It therefore aims to go beyond the medicinal uses of marijuana. Such measures are essential for consumers and sellers not to be compelled to fall back on other channels.

Curry County Economic Development Director Julie Schmelzer says that, having analysed the business plan of this marijuana retail centre and met its investors, she believes this venture "is going to be quite an asset to the area" and will help make the economy greener than ever. If one thing is clear, it is that the United States is still ahead of us in everything.
