A Dozen Strangely Beautiful Photographs of Marijuana Seen under a Microscope

Marijuana has a unique, mysterious and different kind of beauty to that of any other plant. Its leaves and buds are pretty to the naked eye, and vary depending on the variety, although you have surely never seen all of their details in high resolution. 

Their beauty is even stranger and more characteristic when seen under a microscope. This may be the best way to seduce smokers attracted by its sweet nectar and now also by its captivating molecular beauty.

There are greens mixed with white and pink and reddish tones. Protruding tips, fluorescent hollows and porosities, which emit a range of fragrant substance that seduce us with their medicinal, psychotropic and visual effects.

170 images such as these ones were taken under a microscope by the researcher Ford McCann and collected in the book ‘Cannabis under the Microscope: A Visual Exploration of Medicinal Sativa and C.Indica’.

McCann’s aim was to observe marijuana and show it from a different point of view. You will surely never have paid attention to cannabis flowers with their long and thin flowers and little violet, bluish, green and red circles. There are little calcium crystallizations seen with an accuracy of up to 0.5mm. 

Marijuana is more beautiful the closer you get. After seeing these images, you can also enjoy its appeal from close up. Having said that, you will need to have a microscope to hand.
