All set for the 5th edition of the International Cannafest Fair in Prague

Last year Cannafest welcomed exhibitors from 21 countries, in its scope surpassing Spannabis, the worldwide fair held every year in Barcelona. This year the Czech Republic will welcome exhibitors related to cultivation technologies, fertilizers, seeds, products for smokers, and vaporizers. But that´s not all: manufacturers from the world of cosmetics, clothing, food and media will also take part in an event which aims to raise awareness about the realities surrounding cannabis in the 21st century. This time, however, the spotlight will be turned on the field of the field of medical cannabis.

Cannafest will be supported by institutions and companies that use marijuana as a natural resource with numerous benefits, as well as those who are fighting for legalization and its application in the health care sector. This year more than 130 exhibitors will turn out, and there will be audio-visual projections, talks, tastings, massages, parties and other activities. 

The three days will begin at 11 am, ending on Friday at 7 pm, on Saturday at 8 pm, and on Sunday at 6 pm. The price is 8 euros for one day and 15 for all three (children under 14, accompanied by an adult, are free).

Exhibitions, talks and cinema for all

The history of marijuana, its relationship to the environment, and the faces of renowned figures in the movement for cannabis legalization will be important elements at the event. Exhibitions will, among other activities, expound the uses of this plant over the last 5,000 years: how people learned to process all its parts, why and for what these were used, as well as other relevant aspects from the field of Biology. 

It also seeks to inform attendees about its benefits with regards to the environment, as it can supplant other environmentally damaging products in the areas of Transport, Industry, Waste, Consumption and Agriculture.

The exhibition on those who are calling for the lifting of prohibitions in the field of cannabis has been designed from a universal point of view, in an effort to promote the different projects currently underway.

And there will also be a number of talks - more than 20 - featuring leaders from the world of cannabis, hailing from countries like Spain, the United Kingdom, France, the United States, Israel and Belgium. 

The world of cinema will also be represented at the fair, with attendees being able to enjoy 20 different features, including films like "In Pot We Trust," which deals with the struggle of several patients who need cannabis to survive, juxtaposed with the positions held by some politicians on this issue; "Cannafest 2011 + Cannafest 2013," presenting major moments at the fair in recent years; and "When We Grow… This Is What We Can Do," a story produced for the silver screen by two young film directors seeking to figure out why cannabis was prohibited at a certain point in time.

Food and cannabis relaxation

During what can be used as a weekend to unwind, attendees will also be able to try cannabis-containing appetizers; all the food will contain marijuana in one form or another: oil, flowers, seeds, leaves… all natural. And perhaps after eating you will feel like a massage with hemp oil. Cannafest's organizers invite you to enjoy one and to let your body and mind "regenerate and obtain new energies."

If after this relaxation you would like to have fun at a party given by and for lovers of marijuana, you can enjoy the "Cross Club" on either Friday or Saturday, where you will have the option of resting and checking out a range of different vaporizers, or inhaling medicinal herbs of all kinds.

Of course, through this year's complete line-up of events at Cannafest its organizers aim to celebrate the fair´s 5th anniversary in real style, all while demonstrating a commitment to the therapeutic aspects of marijuana, as a way to raise awareness of its benefits, with the most highly qualified professionals.
