Ten Million Dollars of Funding for "App" That Sells Medicinal Marijuana

The company Eaze Solutions, that has created an “app” for selling medical marijuana by bringing together drivers and dispensaries, has received more than 10 million dollars (more than 9 million euros) towards extending its operations. This injection of funding will be added to the one and a half million dollars (1.4 million euros) that the company received last year from 40 investors. 

The application, already known as Uber for marijuana, means that users with a card for legal marijuana can fill up their online shopping basket with several types of cannabis. The orders are then delivered easily to homes using a network of dispensaries and drivers.

The company states that it already has links with marijuana dispensaries in 35 cities in San Francisco and it is planning to extend to Colorado and Washington, states where cannabis consumption is already legal.

"The new funding allows us to expand quickly, with additional technological developments, create new partnerships with dispensaries, and enlarge our team”, explained the company in an announcement, adding that 50 new employees will be hired thanks to the new funding. 

According to the company in San Francisco, their technology makes it possible to verify patients and deliver goods in only 15 minutes without the client having to pay extra for the service. 

"There are real people with real medical problems who need this medicine, and it has been very touching and gratifying to talk to them and find out that we are doing something to help them”, explained Keith McCarthy, sales director at Eazon Solutions.
