- MOBY DICK, the killer whale, one of the most successful marijuana seeds uniting fans worldwide, both for indoor and outdoor growing.
Moby Dick is one of the varieties of marijuana seeds that has made Dinafem become the symbol of a quality feminised seed bank. This is further shown by the countless trophies of all sorts this variety has harvested over the years. "Girl of the Year" by the Soft Secrets cannabis newspaper, best sativa in the Summer Cup 2011, Silver Cup in Argentina and being the plant with the most comments Biblia de las Variedades are just a couple examples.
Moby Dick is a sativa/indica hybrid (80/20), with clear sativa predominance. Moby Dick combines the best attributes from its parental types, a 15-year-old marijuana clone selected from the well-known White Widow, with another illustrious sativa clone that is among the oldest in our library of mothers.
It needs more fertilizer, space and light than usual indoor marijuana growing to reach its full potential, so we recommend that you grow it with fewer cannabis plants per square meter, in larger pots, giving them more space and, if possible, using 600W lamps.
Outdoor marijuana cultivation needs abundant quality substrate, a generous supply of water and nutrients, which together with a suitable climate will lead to leafy plants that can grow up to 3 metres tall and produce 1.5 kg of buds, literally covered in resin.
Moby Dick is a plant with a very good production, well above average.
The most common phenotype is that which blooms in around 65-70 days and gives rise to robust cannabis plants, with beautiful and compact buds glazed with a white and shiny layer of resin that even appears on the stems and leaf edges, inherited from its Widow ancestry. The influence from its other parental, the selected sativa clone, gives the aroma, the potency and quality of effect. The cross of these two elite clones provides tremendous hybrid vigour, with thick and strong branches. The aroma combines scents of wood, pine, incense, even hints of pepper.
Its most cited characteristic could be its effect, mainly its potency and psychoactivity. When we speak with marijuana growers about Moby Dick, they always comment on its potency as one of its main characteristics. MOBY DICK has a potent and devastating effect; two or three drags are enough to feel its intense cerebral and psychoactive backlash.
In cannabis cultivation, samples of Moby Dick have been analysed with THC concentrations of 21%; this strain is not recommended for first-time users.
Similarly, we believe that inexperienced marijuana growers should first gain experience with less demanding varieties like Power Kush, Critical+, Blue Hash or California Hashplant to name a few, which are initially more appropriate for less experienced growers, so they can later squeeze the most out of Moby Dick's full potential.
