Seven new genetics have landed in Dinafem Seeds' 2018 catalogue. A couple of CBD-rich strains for those who need to treat certain ailments, other two astoundingly alluring purple plants to beautify their gardens, two feminised hybrids offering all the amazing traits of the super-popular strain in less time, and an internationally acclaimed strain with mind-blowing potency. In a few lines, we'll try to provide a brief description of the latest additions to our catalogue.
The therapeutic couple: CBD as the main dish
CBD is surely the most revolutionary element found in cannabis. The way cannabis sativa is viewed has completely changed thanks to this cannabinoid. Now, instead of a substance that hippies use for having fun, it's considered a medicinal product. But not only that: it's also serving as a catalyst for responsible consumption. Its ability to reduce and delay THC-triggered highs leads many to believe that CBD-rich genetics are less harmful than those with no CBD.
Dinamed CBD Plus
We wanted everyone to have the chance to enjoy first-hand the many benefits of CBD, so we created Dinamed CBD Plus. The result is so amazing because only when we had well understood how important CBD was for therapeutic and recreational users alike did we start to work on our cultivations and laboratories with a clear idea in mind: to offer cannabis growers a seed with a vigorous growth, heavy-yielding properties and lots of quality cannabinoids.
High CBD levels and virtually no THC: mission accomplished
Our team of breeders has taken a major step in the development of CBD-rich strains. By increasing the cannabinoid content of Dinamed CBD, Dinafem Seeds' first strain with THC levels not exceeding 1 %, they aimed to create a marijuana strain with an extraordinary CBD rate. And that's how we got Dinamed CBD Plus, an incredible hybrid whose CBD content goes up to 20 % while her THC rate remains lower than 1 %.
Our technical team has succeeded in creating a very stable strain thanks to the rigorous selection and breeding processes she's been subject to. Part of an extraordinary lineage of CBD-rich genetics, she results from a self-cross, more specifically from the self-pollination of an extraordinary plant known as Dinamed CBD 5. The purpose of our using this technique was to narrow her gene pool so that both her stability and homogeneity were significantly boosted.
Dinamed CBD Plus grows vigorously due to her Sativa heritage. In fact, she's so easy to grow that she'll thrive if provided with a standard diet. After a flowering of no more than 60 days, she'll produce extraordinarily generous crops of cannabinoid-rich buds. She's also highly resinous but not as sticky as THC-rich genetics. Her sativa-looking cone-shaped buds present a great calyx-to-leaf ratio.
Dinamed CBD Auto
In 2017, we released our first CBD pure feminised strain, Dinamed CBD, and, in 2018, it was the turn of her autoflowering version, with up to 14 % CBD. With barely any psychoactivity, THC levels not exceeding 1 % and multiple therapeutic properties resulting from her high cannabidiol content, this autoflowering version brings CBD closer to all kinds of growers.
By all kinds of growers we mean that no previous experience is needed for the crop to succeed. This is because autoflowering marijuana plants are easier to grow than feminised seeds. In fact, her easy-to-grow nature is, without any doubt, her main advantage over the original Dinamed CBD, requiring less attention and growing faster than her predecessor.
Plenty of direct light, a pot with a capacity of at least seven litres, abundant soil, and a constant, nutrient-rich watering regime is all this cannabidiol-rich plant needs to grow healthy. Due to her short 60-70-day life cycle, expect to harvest in summer (germinate by the end of May in the northern hemisphere).
The purple duet: the most beautiful and colourful plants
Purple Moby Dick
The massive yield, high-flying potency and monstrous size of our legendary Moby Dick all dolled up. The amazing features of the ravenous whale that put Dinafem Seeds on the global cannabis map have been kept intact except for her looks that now are visually more attractive thanks to the new delicate and colourful outfit we've created for her. This hybrid is perfect for those of you who already love this highly acclaimed strain as well as for those looking for heavy-yielding and super-potent plants.
Her morphology is simply astounding. A huge branchy plant the loves stretching sideways but also upwards eventually reaching heights of 3 meters outdoors. That's why she becomes so wide and tall. Besides, the purple hues of the upper, outer parts of the plant put on an awe-inspiring visual show. Given her size, she requires large amounts of sunlight, water, fertiliser, and space, so be prepared for a voracious appetite. In return, she is highly resistant to fungi.
Flowering in about 70 days, Purple Moby Dick produces bumper crops with high cannabinoid content - up to 21% THC when grown in optimal conditions. Purple Moby Dick flowers are far sweeter and fruitier than the classic piney taste of the amazing Moby Dick. As for her effect, it's potent, euphoria-inducing, cerebral and long-lasting.
Purps #1
Indica-dominant, medium-sized and open in structure, Purps #1 is a relaxing, intensely fruity strain that stands out for her colour richness, to the point that her beauty overshadows the pretty Purple Afghan Kush - which is no surprise whatsoever, as she's been specifically created for those who prioritise beauty and enjoy fruity flavours.
Indica-leaning in terms of appearance, her vigorous growth is more sativa-like. Purps #1 will show her full potential with just some basic care, producing generous purple crops rich in THC. To top it off, hues of violet bathe her wide leaves making her look all mysterious, particularly in the last days of flowering (Purps #1 flowers in 60 days).
Apart from her colouring, another great asset of this strain is definitely her taste and aroma. A unique blend of fruity flavours that differs widely from other strains' aromas. The effect provides deep body and mind relaxation and is not particularly cerebral or long-lasting despite the high THC content.
Two sprinters: the most highly acclaimed genetics get a boost
Quick Critical +
The fast-growing properties of a plant can make a strain extremely popular. And the truth is that harvesting the same in less time leads to greater higher cost-effectiveness, which is a big deal. This is exactly where the main advantage of Quick Critical + lies: she's far more profitable than the legendary Critical +. With her, you'll be able to enjoy the same taste, aroma, and quality as the original a week or so earlier. And don't worry about her yielding properties because they're very much alike too (expect a 50g drop in 1/2 kg).
Greater cost-effectiveness and lower risks than with Critical +
Coming from the cross of an elite female clone of Critical + and an elite reversed (male) female plant of our Critical + 2.0 Auto line, Quick Critical + is one of the easiest-to-grow genetics ever, producing top-quality buds in exchange for very little attention. If Critical + was synonymous with yield and quality, and Critical + 2.0 with resistance, this incredible creation is, besides all that, super-quick. But she's not an autoflowering plant. She's simply one to two weeks faster than the original. So, if you love huge genetics, this strain is meant for you. A plant growing as big as you wish her to during the vegetative phase that can produce equally amazing buds during the flowering.
Her scent is, in fact, one of her most distinctive features: a strong skunky aroma with notes of citrus that will make your taste buds go wild. And her effect is amazingly physical too. Mostly Indica-dominant, this THC-rich strain delivers a powerfully relaxing high that is perfect for a wide variety of therapeutic purposes, from relieving stress to alleviating muscle tension.
Quick Kush
That unmistakable oily and lemony scent. That high resin count rendering any grinder unusable in the blink of an eye. That cerebral buzz capable of leaving you feeling glued to the couch totally cut off from the real world. Dear Kush lovers, we do know that there is nothing more we could ask from the prettiest girl in California but our team of breeders did feel that there was still one thing that the legendary OG Kush could be better at. And they were actually right because the strain they've developed boasts not only all the amazing traits of the Kush family but also a much quicker flowering. Such new creation is Quick Kush, an incredible cannabis plant flowering in less than 56 days that is sure to seduce the most demanding OG Kush lovers.
This mid-sized and slender plant with broad leaves and evenly distributed elongated branches is impressively beautiful, and we're not exaggerating. Armed with highly resistant genetics, she grows happy in warm and dry climates with a standard feeding and watering regime, offering top-quality buds if these conditions are fully met. This Quick version is one to two weeks faster than the original OG Kush, with a flowering time of 49-56 days.
Quick Kush grows much faster than the feminised version. What does this mean? It means that she's exposed to more hours of sunshine and heat when growing in the open air. Such extra hours of light and heat result in higher cannabinoid levels, so, if OG Kush was already known for her high THC content, this quick version exceeds her predecessor, making her effect just suitable for fearless cannabis heavyweights.
Gorilla: a must-have feminised strain
Gorilla is an Indica-dominant hybrid (60%) derived from the cross of Chocolate Diesel, Chem Sister, and Sour Dubb. Internationally renowned for her high resin count, the ball-shaped, ultra-dense, heavy, smelly and resin-packed buds she's capable of producing end up all covered in a striking whitey colouring when they fully ripe. Her other great asset is undoubtedly her effect. Extremely potent and with nearly 25% THC, this is one of those heavy indicas that relax your body completely. A high-flying effect served with an oily scent and earthy and zesty undertones.
Gorilla looks exactly like a hybrid would: medium/large structure with mid-sized internodes and light-green leaves. Growing her is rather easy, but some basic knowledge is certainly required, particularly with regard to fertilizers: this strain cannot be overfed, that's why a light diet is very much preferred. And as she is not particularly resistant to moisture or drought, she needs to be watered sparingly but regularly. We also recommend pruning, mostly on the lower leaves and branches so that the upper part can have enough energy to thrive.
